Our Purpose Our purpose is not immensely noble and we do not regard ourselves as being very important. But we do know that the role of PROVIDER to those who are less fortunate than ourselves, is a role that is commanded theologically, ethically, morally, philosophically and practically. At Oakcrest Foundation, we acknowledge the wisdom of the precept: If you give a man some fish, you will save his life. But if you teach him how to fish, you will save his life time. Our purpose, then, is to teach people how to fish, i.e., through educational programs and practical financial support, we teach whole villages and other disenfranchised people how to support themselves. While not specifically stipulated in our charter, Oakcrest Foundation performs all of its functions to the glory of Our Heavenly Father. It is to Him we give thanks for our many blessings, and it is to Him we look to for guidance and direction in our efforts. |
